Ecology Lead NSW

About the role

Lead and develop AECOM's NSW Ecology team, driving strategic growth, client relationships and market presence across New South Wales.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the NSW Ecology team, building technical depth and national consistency.
• Drive business development, contribute to proposals and bids, and expand client relationships.
• Deliver complex ecological investigations for high‑profile infrastructure projects, including baseline surveys and threatened species assessments.
• Oversee preparation of technical reports and plans while providing supportive leadership and project management.
• Undertake field work across NSW and ACT and lead strategy, innovation and digital enablement.

Required profile

• NSW BAM Accreditation and ability to provide strategic biodiversity advice.
• 10+ years of ecology experience in Australia, with at least 5 years delivering projects in NSW.
• Strong commercial acumen, proven client‑relationship growth and service expansion.
• Leadership, mentoring and team‑building skills with a passion for high‑performing teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, acting as a trusted advisor to public and private sector clients.
• Recognition as a technical ecology leader delivering complex, high‑impact projects.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within NSW for client, site and agency engagements.
