Early Childhood Director

About the role

One Tree Community Services is recruiting a Director for its small, child-centred early childhood service in Kununurra, a remote town in the East Kimberley. The Director leads, inspires and mentors educators so the service delivers high-quality early childhood education in a remote Aboriginal community, and oversees the centre's operations while welcoming children and families.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, inspire and mentor educators to deliver high-quality early childhood education
• Oversee the operations of the centre
• Manage staff, including performance, recruitment and performance appraisals
• Build successful relationships with staff, families and the community
• Work within the organisation's spirit, purpose and values, and comply with its code of ethics, policies and procedures

Required profile

• Diploma in early childhood or ACECQA-approved equivalent or above
• Minimum of 1 year's experience in a managerial role or extensive 2IC experience
• Eligible to work in Australia and willing to relocate to Kununurra
• Current WA Working with Children Check and satisfactory National Police Clearance (within 6 months)
• Valid driver's licence; First Aid and CPR certificates or willingness to obtain them
• Geccko Foundations and Advanced Child Safety Training certificates

• Knowledge of relevant state and Commonwealth laws and regulations

• Salary of $112,693.18 inclusive of allowances and loadings, plus superannuation
