Early Career Pharmacists - 12-Month Contracts 2027

About the role

Royal Darwin and Palmerston Hospitals are recruiting two early career pharmacists for 12-month contracts starting in 2027. The positions are based in Darwin, where candidates gain clinical experience in tropical and renal medicine, Aboriginal health, infectious diseases and critical care within a supportive pharmacy team of more than 70 pharmacists, technicians and interns.

Key responsibilities

• Work as a clinical pharmacist in the hospital pharmacy setting.
• Gain experience in tropical and renal medicine, Aboriginal health, infectious diseases and critical care.
• Work 8am to 4:21pm, including weekend and on-call rosters (paid as overtime).
• Be supported by experienced senior pharmacists through structured orientation, mentoring and professional development.

Required profile

• Current hospital intern or early-career pharmacist.
• Interest in a clinical pharmacy role in Darwin.

What we offer

• Base salary of $95,697 to $114,104, with total remuneration of $113,101 to $134,507.
• 15% market allowance on base salary and a $5,000 annual retention allowance.
• 12% employer superannuation and salary packaging up to $9,005.
• Free accommodation or equivalent allowance for 8-12 weeks, depending on length of employment; relocation package may be offered.
• 6 weeks annual leave plus 17% leave loading, 3 weeks personal leave, and a professional development allowance.
• Study support, conference attendance and study opportunities.
