EAL/D Teacher – Junior School (Part‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time EAL/D teacher to join our Learning Development Team at Somerville House, providing specialist leadership and support for junior school students (Prep–Year 6) to access and succeed across the curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver inclusive EAL/D services for junior school learners.
• Provide direct language support and tailored interventions.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to design differentiated learning experiences and appropriate adjustments.
• Promote culturally responsive practices that value students’ linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Required profile

• Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in teaching or EAL/D.
• Experience working with EAL/D students in a primary school setting (preferred).

Required skills

• Knowledge of EAL/D instructional strategies and assessment.
• Ability to plan differentiated lessons and make curriculum adjustments.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with teachers, students and families.
