Driller's Offsider Traineeship (VIC) - Entry Level

About the role

DDH1 Drilling, part of Perenti Limited, offers an entry-level Driller's Offsider traineeship with a Certificate II in Drilling Operations. You are paid while you learn, and the company covers the cost of the certificate and future drilling certifications. Work is on projects across Western Australia, including FIFO from Perth (flights paid), with rosters of 2:1 or 4:2 depending on site and client.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilise the rig from one set-up to another
• Handle core: remove it from the tube, place it in core boxes and label them
• Handle drilling rods and core tubes
• Mix drill fluid additives
• Clean equipment and keep the work area clean
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs

Required profile

• Valid unrestricted HRB driver's licence, or willingness to obtain one before starting
• National police clearance within 12 months
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate (HLTAID009 and HLTAID011)
• FIFO from any Australian capital city, with induction in Perth
• Physically fit for 12-hour shifts in remote, harsh conditions and able to handle manual labour
• Safety-focused, reliable team player
• Australian or New Zealand resident, as required by the government traineeship
