Distribution Engineer / Designer – Electrical Utilities

About the role

Join Egis Group as a Distribution Engineer or Designer working on complex electrical utility projects across Western Australia and nationally. You will contribute to the design and delivery of overhead lines, underground cable networks, and substations for major utilities.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate within the WA Energy team and support project deliverables interstate as required.
• Produce detailed designs for distribution overhead lines, underground cable networks, and substations.
• Deliver distribution design projects for utilities such as Western Power, Horizon Power and Synergy.
• Prepare project and bid documentation as needed.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience supporting Western Australian utility networks.
• Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or Design.
• Full driver’s licence.
• Proven ability to lead key distribution projects across WA.
• Willingness to attend site visits and conduct on‑site work.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder management.

Required skills

• Design and delivery of overhead and underground distribution networks up to 66 kV.
• Proficiency with line design software such as Poles n Wires or similar.
• Experience producing design drawings using MicroStation.
