Disability Support Worker - Supported Independent Living

About the role

CSBS is looking for a Support Worker to join its team on the Sunshine Coast, within a busy, well-established Supported Independent Living (SIL) home. You will support three adults with complex physical and intellectual disabilities and ongoing health support needs, each with their own goals, interests, communication style and support requirements. Support may be given one-to-one, shared or two-to-one depending on individual needs.

Key responsibilities

• Personal care and daily living support
• Manual handling, transfers and mobility assistance, including hoist use and positioning
• Medication administration and health monitoring
• Mealtime assistance and modified diet support
• Following Positive Behaviour Support strategies
• Supporting community access and meaningful activities
• Coordinating with allied health, clinical and nursing teams
• Maintaining accurate documentation and shift reporting

Required profile

• Previous disability support experience
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain) and Queensland Blue Card
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Open driver's licence and a reliable insured vehicle
• Smartphone with data access
• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or similar (highly regarded)
