Disability Support Worker - North West Coast Tasmania

About the role

Leap Support Services is hiring Disability Support Workers across the North-West Coast of Tasmania (Wynyard to Latrobe). You will provide person-centred support to people living with a range of disabilities, helping them build independence, connect with their community and improve their quality of life. The employer offers ongoing training and support, and the work is shift-based, including sleepover shifts, across days, evenings, weekends and nights.

Key responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support tailored to each participant's goals and needs
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, manual handling and medication support
• Support participants to access the community, attend appointments and take part in social and recreational activities
• Help participants develop life skills and build meaningful connections
• Respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations
• Build positive, trusting relationships with participants and work within a supportive team

Required profile

• Ability to work between Wynyard and Latrobe and to complete sleepover shifts
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate
• Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Unrestricted driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Desirable: medication endorsement, experience with complex needs or behaviours of concern, and a Certificate III in Disability / Individual Support (or similar)
