Director of Fun (Leisure)

About the role

Fairmont Resort is seeking an energetic, people‑focused leader to oversee its leisure facilities, including the iconic Blue Mountains Ice‑Skating Rink. This hands‑on position balances commercial strategy with operational excellence to create unforgettable guest experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the Leisure Team to deliver exceptional guest service and meet business KPIs.
• Provide strategic and operational oversight of all amusement facilities, with direct responsibility for the Blue Mountains Ice‑Skating Rink.
• Maintain a strong on‑floor presence to support, coach and guide team members.
• Design and manage the resort’s School Holiday Program, ensuring activities are safe, engaging and commercially aligned.
• Oversee guest engagement, service delivery, ticketing, bookings and overall facility presentation.
• Monitor guest feedback and implement improvement strategies.
• Support social media and publicity initiatives in collaboration with Marketing.
• Participate in daily management briefings and lead regular team meetings.

Required profile

• Strong leadership experience in leisure, attractions, tourism, hospitality or similar guest‑focused environments.
• Passion for delivering outstanding experiences and motivating teams.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organisational skills.
• Confidence managing budgets, KPIs and operational strategies.
• Proactive approach to safety, guest service and operational excellence.
• Availability to work a rotating roster including weekends, school holidays and peak periods.
