DevSecOps Engineer

About the role

HCLTech is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer to join its Sydney team. You will combine software development, security, and operations expertise to build and modernise CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments and ensure robust security controls across our cloud and on‑premise environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain GitHub Actions workflows using YAML, reusable templates and secret management.
• Build and support C#/.NET Core APIs and applications, and integrate Node.js/TypeScript services where required.
• Migrate existing TeamCity/Jenkins build configurations to GitHub Actions and review modernisation pull requests.
• Engineer end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines, including build, validation, packaging, deployment and cut‑over planning.
• Modernise PowerShell‑based build and deployment scripts, replacing legacy code where needed.
• Integrate security gates such as Snyk, SonarQube, Wiz/IaC scanning and enforce vulnerability thresholds.
• Manage repository governance (branch protection, CODEOWNERS, PR workflows) and generate audit evidence.
• Handle artifact management with Artifactory, NuGet and NPM feeds.
• Optional: support Octopus Deploy migrations, AWS cloud engineering, AMI builds and Windows Server/IIS automation.

Required profile

• Strong background in DevOps, CI/CD and test automation.
• Full‑stack software engineering experience with solid OOP principles (SOLID, DRY, separation of concerns).
• Hands‑on experience building .NET Core APIs and working with RESTful services.
• Ability to read, refactor and modernise PowerShell automation scripts.
