Development Engineer - Electronics (Lighting Controls)

About the role

Signify Dynalite is looking for a Development Engineer to join its R&D team and help develop intelligent building control products used in commercial, hospitality and public infrastructure projects. Based at the Moorebank facility in Sydney, you will work in a multidisciplinary engineering team developing connected building and lighting control solutions, from concept through to production. R&D and manufacturing are co-located on site, so you can prototype, test and launch quickly.

Key responsibilities

• Research new technologies, electronics components and circuits.
• Develop electrical hardware for lighting controls from concept to completion.
• Carry out design verification and validation to ensure functionality, compliance, quality, cost and manufacturability.
• Liaise with local and global R&D colleagues, material suppliers and manufacturers.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Electronics or Mechatronic Engineering, with 2+ years of commercial experience in analogue and digital electronics design.
• Ability to work unsupervised and take ownership of tasks and projects.
• Good understanding of project management fundamentals.
• Ability to work in a global, multi-site, multi-cultural R&D and manufacturing team.
• Unrestricted working rights in Australia; visa sponsorship is not offered.

Required skills

• Altium E-CAD (PCB design) and MS Office.
• Experience with digital wired and wireless communication PHY layers, microcontroller circuits and peripherals, analogue and digital circuits and power supplies.
• Hands-on prototyping and testing skills.
• Advantageous: SolidWorks, Adobe suite, C, C++, Python, and knowledge of IEC/EN and UL standards.
