Development Director

About the role

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is seeking a Development Director to provide executive leadership for a complex portfolio of housing, infrastructure and land‑activation projects across Queensland. You will guide multidisciplinary teams and ensure delivery of strategic housing outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee a diverse portfolio of development projects, including regional and high‑complexity sites.
• Contribute to the Land Activation Program (LAP) alongside other Development Directors.
• Drive housing outcomes aligned with EDQ’s KPIs, such as homes contracted and commenced.
• Manage a growing pipeline, balancing delivery priorities with available resources.
• Apply a commercial mindset to support development transactions and outcomes.
• Leverage strategic relationships across government and the property development industry.

Required profile

• Strategic leader with strong development and stakeholder‑management expertise.
• Tertiary qualification in property or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering complex development or infrastructure projects.
• Deep understanding of planning, development and statutory frameworks.
• High‑level strategic advisory capability and strong negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary teams.
