Deskside Technician II

About the role

This is a fully onsite, Australian-based position supporting IT equipment in a large corporate environment. The role covers desktop and laptop support (Mac and PC), mobile devices, printers and peripherals, and on-call and after-hours support, with possible executive support and occasional work at other client locations.

Key responsibilities

• Support desktop and laptop users on Mac and PC, running Windows 7/10, and support mobile devices, printers, scanners, wireless and VPN
• Install, move, add, change and maintain IT equipment, including repairs, spare parts and components
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues, and maintain system configurations and documentation
• Track and resolve customer incidents and requests through the client's ticketing tool
• Handle backup, restoration and migration of user data
• Provide Smart Hands support for networking, servers and telecommunications, and manage IT asset inventory and audits
• Follow KB articles, work on-call and after-hours shifts, and perform other desk-side duties as assigned

Required profile

• High School Diploma (required)
• 3+ years of experience in a managed service environment
• Experience supporting Mac OS, Windows OS, Microsoft Office, smartphones, AV conferencing systems, printers and PC hardware
• End-user computer support experience, ideally in a corporate setting
• Australian citizen or permanent resident; no temporary visa holders, and no visa sponsorship
• Willingness to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and to stand and walk for long periods
