About the role

Aurecon is seeking a senior Design Lead to shape the future of healthcare design across Australia. You will lead multidisciplinary teams on major hospital and health infrastructure projects, translating complex challenges into measurable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Guide multidisciplinary design teams from concept through delivery on large‑scale health projects.
• Partner with senior client stakeholders to define project strategy and ensure design intent aligns with clinical and operational goals.
• Lead detailed technical discussions on building services, health planning, and architecture to deliver integrated, high‑performing designs.
• Oversee design management, balancing innovation, risk, and value throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contribute to Aurecon’s national health strategy and expand the firm’s presence in the sector.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience leading major health or complex building projects in Australia.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver outcomes that meet client, clinical, and operational objectives.
• Strong background in building design, services integration, and project governance.
• Experience in client relationship management, business development, and senior‑level influence.
• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
