Deputy Principal - Pemberton District High School

About the role

Pemberton District High School (PDHS) is seeking a Deputy Principal for a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position starting in Term 1, 2027, with possible extension and/or permanency. The Deputy Principal works with the Principal, Executive, Leadership and Phase of Learning teams to develop and promote the school's vision and values, and to lead the school and its community.

Key responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with staff, students, families and external stakeholders across the K-10 context
• Contribute to the school business plan through consultative decision making
• Implement strategic priorities, develop and review policy and processes, and set up operational systems
• Support the Student Services team through case management that promotes student engagement, positive behaviour support and restorative practice

Required profile

• Australian, New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
• Registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia
• Valid Working with Children Check obtained before starting
• Consent to a criminal history check and a current Screening Clearance Number from the Department of Education

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy
• Ability to use student performance data to improve learning outcomes
• Instructional coaching experience highly regarded; fostering staff professional growth in high-impact teaching is advantageous
• Interpersonal and public relations skills, and the ability to manage staff, physical and financial resources
