Deputy Chief Financial Officer

About the role

A global non-bank lender with an established presence in the Australian market is looking to appoint a Deputy Chief Financial Officer to join its Sydney-based leadership team. Working closely with the CFO, this is a broad and senior finance leadership role covering financial strategy, reporting, planning, governance and finance operations, with responsibility for supporting business growth and the development of the finance function.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the CFO and senior leadership on financial strategy and business planning
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial analysis
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
• Manage statutory accounts, tax, audit and regulatory requirements
• Provide commercial insights and analysis to support business decisions
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and systems
• Manage relationships with auditors, regulators and other external stakeholders
• Support strategic initiatives and M&A activity, including due diligence, financial modelling and integration

Required profile

• Experienced senior finance professional with a strong technical accounting foundation
• CA/CPA qualified or equivalent
• Significant experience in financial services, lending, banking or a related environment
• Experienced people leader with strong stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working closely with senior executives in a growing, fast-paced business
