Dental State Manager - Queensland (11 Clinics)

About the role

A Brisbane-based Dental State Manager is sought to provide strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of 11 dental clinics in Queensland. It is a hybrid role combining remote work with regular presence across the clinic network, partnering with practice leaders, clinicians and the broader leadership team to drive performance, engagement and sustainable growth. The role carries accountability for financial outcomes, including expenditure, budget and EBIT targets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction across 11 Queensland dental clinics
• Lead, coach and mentor operational leaders and dental teams
• Analyse P&Ls and key performance indicators to identify opportunities and address underperformance
• Improve chair utilisation, appointment book performance, recalls, patient retention and workforce efficiency
• Develop and execute state-based strategies and create consistency in systems, processes and patient experience
• Partner with clinicians and clinic leaders to improve engagement and retention
• Identify recruitment and workforce needs and address capability gaps
• Lead change and continuous improvement initiatives and maintain clinical governance, accreditation and quality standards
• Manage expenditure, achieve budget and EBIT targets and build relationships with stakeholders, clinicians, suppliers and industry partners

Required profile

• Previous exposure to the dental industry
• Substantial experience in business management and people leadership
• Ideal candidate has strong multi-site operational leadership experience
• Proven ability to coach, develop and engage high-performing teams
• Experience implementing operational improvements and managing change

Required skills

• Commercial and financial acumen and confidence interpreting P&Ls and performance data
• Stakeholder management, negotiation and influencing
• Emotional intelligence and conflict resolution
• Ability to balance commercial outcomes with clinical and patient experience
