Dental Assistant - Geelong

About the role

Bupa Dental Geelong is hiring a Dental Assistant on a fixed-term, part-time basis to cover maternity leave until 14 April 2027, with a strong likelihood of permanency. The practice has two chairs and is close to the Moorabool Street bus station. Hours are Wednesday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday, 8:00am to 3:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Support the delivery of safe clinical care and procedures and contribute to patient care goals.
• Ensure equipment and supplies meet infection control standards, including sterilisation and processing of dental equipment, and keep treatment rooms clean and organised.
• Clean and prepare treatment rooms, instruments and equipment according to infection control standards and BDC procedures.
• Follow service quality standards and work health and safety policies.
• Assist with appointment scheduling, including booking, cancellation, rebooking and confirmation.

Required profile

• Ideally 12 months' experience as a Dental Assistant in Australia.
• A Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded.
• Ability to work with a medium level of accountability or discretion.

Required skills

• Chair-side assistance: suction, passing instruments and materials, mixing techniques, assisting with x-rays and knowledge of instrumentation.
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation procedures.
