Dental Assistant - Chairside

About the role

Maven Dental Cairns City is a well-established practice on McLeod Street offering a wide range of dental treatments. It is looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join its team full-time, supporting the dentists chairside. The role suits someone who enjoys surgical work or who has strong general experience and wants to build on it. Hours are Monday to Friday with no weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Provide chairside support across general, restorative and implant procedures, and assist with oral surgery and Invisalign scans
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilise instruments in line with infection control standards
• Keep patients comfortable and informed, especially those who feel anxious
• Maintain accurate clinical notes and chart in the practice management software
• Help with stock control and ordering for the surgery

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting (essential)
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols
• Clear, professional communication with patients and the team

Required skills

• Confidence using dental practice management software
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
