Demand Planner

About the role

Kogan is looking for a commercially astute Demand Planner to manage accurate forecasts and replenishment plans so that the company has optimal stock coverage for its customers. The role suits someone with an eye for detail and a curious mind who can give feedback and help shape the Demand Planning process. It is open to people coming from junior Demand Planning, Inventory Control or Allocation Analyst positions, or to experienced planners wanting to work with a pure-play online retailer.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve forecast accuracy across all product lines by working with internal stakeholders on future demand
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure purchase orders are accurate and on time
• Propose improvements to current processes and analyse performance of product ranges to recommend actions
• Keep stock moving: timely imports, minimal sold-out products, and regular demand audits to avoid stock-outs and aged stock
• Minimise logistics and warehousing costs by analysing shipment sizes and frequencies
• Partner with Category Managers to set sufficient stock levels, including around sales and promotional campaigns

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field (Commerce, Business, Mathematics or similar)
• Experience in Demand Planning or Inventory / Stock Control, preferably in retail, eCommerce or FMCG
• Analytical, logical and able to evaluate offers and products quickly
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, and able to handle many tasks at once

• Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP and pivot tables)
• SAP and Demand Planning software (well regarded)
• Cloud-based IT tools
