Defence Projects Engineer

About the role

Amentum is seeking a motivated Defence Projects Engineer to support the delivery, enhancement and sustainment of defence capability across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will work closely with defence stakeholders, military units and industry partners to ensure engineering solutions are safe, effective and aligned with operational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical advice to support defence capability.
• Manage and coordinate configuration changes in line with approved Configuration Management policies.
• Support engineering design management activities for project and capability enhancement initiatives.
• Process and manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), configuration management activities and technical investigations.
• Generate and maintain reports on defective and unsatisfactory equipment.

Required profile

• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative project environment.
• Strong understanding of defence safety and governance requirements.
• Experience interfacing with military units, defence stakeholders and industry partners.
• Proactive attitude with a focus on delivering high‑quality engineering outcomes.
