Data Scientist - MLOps

About the role

EY is looking for a Data Scientist with a mining geostatistics and resource estimation background to maintain and support a cloud‑based geological modelling platform. The role blends geostatistics, mining workflows, MLOps, cloud engineering and production support to deliver reliable geological modelling solutions on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Support and maintain geological modelling workflows.
• Validate geostatistical outputs, block models, estimation results and data quality.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to troubleshoot modelling issues and improve processes.
• Deploy, monitor and maintain production machine‑learning models using MLflow.
• Support geological modelling workflows hosted on AWS.
• Implement DevOps practices and monitoring solutions in AWS.

Required profile

• Experience in mining, geology, mineral resource estimation or related industries.
• Understanding of geostatistics, geological modelling, orebody modelling and resource estimation concepts.
• Strong machine‑learning and MLOps experience, especially deploying production models with MLflow in hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of RESTful APIs, data ingestion patterns and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience supporting cloud‑native applications on AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, monitoring and operational support practices.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
