Data Engineer (Azure, Python, SQL)

About the role

Goodstart is modernising its enterprise data platform to support one of Australia’s largest not‑for‑profit organisations. As an ICT Data Engineer you will design, build and maintain scalable data solutions that enable trusted reporting, advanced analytics and data‑driven decision making.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and operate data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric.
• Create robust SQL queries, ETL processes and data models for enterprise reporting and analytics.
• Integrate, transform and model data from APIs and other enterprise sources using Python.
• Collaborate with Business Intelligence Specialists, Data Architects and business stakeholders to deliver practical data solutions.
• Support continuous improvement through automation, data‑quality enhancements and operational efficiencies.
• Contribute to the evolution of Goodstart’s data architecture and engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, SQL Developer or Data Warehouse Developer in a complex environment.
• Advanced SQL development skills with experience designing complex data models and ETL workflows.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
