Data & AI Director

About the role

As a Director in PwC Australia’s Data & AI practice you will lead large‑scale data and AI transformations for clients, primarily in the Energy and Mining sectors. You will combine consulting expertise with deep technical knowledge to advise senior stakeholders, shape solutions and guide multidisciplinary delivery teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives in Energy and Mining.
• Lead end‑to‑end Data & AI engagements from strategy through production deployment.
• Advise on data architecture, platforms, operating models and technology choices.
• Design solutions spanning data engineering, modern data platforms, analytics, machine learning, Generative AI and enterprise integration.
• Coach and oversee multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, data scientists and consultants.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities, shaping propositions and delivering proposals.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with senior executives in Energy and Mining.
• Track record of winning and delivering complex data and AI consulting projects.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to translate technology decisions into business outcomes.
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary consulting or engineering teams.

Required skills

• Azure, AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
• Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or equivalent data platforms.
• Production‑grade AI/ML solutions, including Generative AI and emerging agentic AI.
• Modern data architecture, pipelines, integration and analytics.
• Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI, security and risk.
