Cyber Security Manager, Vulnerability Management

About the role

Amazon’s Stores Security team is looking for a Cyber Security Manager to lead the Vulnerability Management and Remediation Operations (VMR) team in Sydney. You will drive day‑to‑day security operations, partner with global peers, and ensure rapid mitigation of security issues across Amazon’s critical business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of vulnerability assessment, detection development, and remediation processes.
• Collaborate with teams in Seattle, Austin, and London to continuously improve operational mechanisms.
• Work with engineers, business owners, and senior leaders to prioritize, escalate, and resolve security findings.
• Build trust with Principal Engineers and executives by applying technical expertise to design improved security solutions.
• Champion risk‑based decision‑making across multi‑disciplinary programs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience managing and developing technical teams.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in a software security or related environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of web‑service security, video content protection, cryptography, network security protocols, and operating‑system security.
• Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques.
