Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

As a Cyber Security Engineer you will be responsible for analysing, implementing, and refining robust cyber security requirements to ensure security is a foundational component of IT infrastructure and information systems. The role integrates security solutions through intentional design, innovative thinking, and technical expertise to protect critical systems, data, and assets.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in leading development teams to design, architect, and develop secure information systems or upgrade legacy systems.
• Conduct product research and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) to recommend optimal security solutions.
• Develop system security concepts and translate technical requirements, compliance standards, and operational needs into secure designs.
• Lead development and documentation of security architectures, roadmaps, and strategic investment plans.
• Mentor senior, mid, and junior cyber security engineers to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Design and engineer secure solutions for cloud environments, including hybrid and multi‑cloud architectures, ensuring DoD/Federal compliance.
• Develop and implement cybersecurity solutions for big data systems.
• Engineer solutions using automation, augmentation, and AI technologies.
• Ensure compliance with DoD 8570, NIST 800‑53, RMF, FedRAMP and other relevant frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven ability to design, implement, and document secure information system architectures.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams of senior, mid, and junior cybersecurity analysts on complex projects.
• Strong project management skills for enterprise‑level cybersecurity initiatives.
• Deep understanding of advanced threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Ability to operate intrusion detection and threat hunting tools such as SIEM (Splunk, Elastic, QRadar), IDS/IPS (Snort, Suricata), and application firewalls.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SSL/TLS, HTTPS) for traffic analysis and security controls.
• Proficiency in threat intelligence analysis and integrating feeds (MISP, STIX/TAXII).
