Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Join JJ’s Waste & Recycling as a Cyber Security Engineer and take ownership of protecting the company’s digital environment. You will work across cybersecurity, infrastructure and business teams to embed a strong security culture while supporting project delivery, incident response and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain security frameworks aligned with ISO27001, SOC2 and ASD Essential Eight.
• Identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities and threats across networks, systems and cloud environments.
• Support incident response activities including detection, containment, investigation and recovery.
• Monitor security tools, analyse alerts and conduct regular risk assessments.
• Automate log analysis, alerting and routine tasks using scripting languages.
• Develop and maintain documentation, reports and security procedures.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders to promote a security‑first mindset.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a cybersecurity engineering or analyst role.
• Strong knowledge of networking, Windows, Linux and macOS systems.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft 365, AWS and Azure.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Continuous learning mindset and passion for cybersecurity.
