About the role

The successful candidate will primarily contribute to the procurement of Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) by evaluating security controls and ensuring compliance with various frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate effectiveness of security controls against ISM, Essential Eight, Cyberworthiness, NIST, and other approved frameworks.
• Conduct security gap analysis, compliance assessments, and assurance activities with detailed reporting.
• Develop, verify, review, update and maintain accreditation documentation and compliance artefacts, including risk assessments.
• Gather information from contractors and communicate technical findings in plain language to non‑technical stakeholders, defence engineers, project managers, and military leadership.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to simplify complex technical information for diverse audiences.

• Network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation)
• System hardening (Windows, Linux, embedded platforms)
• Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
• Cryptography and key management
• Incident detection and response
• Familiarity with defence frameworks such as NIST 800‑53, STIGs
