Cyber Detection and Response Analyst – APAC

About the role

The Cyber Detection and Response Analyst joins Control Risks' global 24/7 Detection and Response Team (DART) to monitor, investigate and respond to cyber threats across client environments in the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, triage and investigate security alerts from endpoint, network, cloud and identity systems.
• Execute incident response playbooks, conduct containment, remediation and produce incident reports.
• Perform threat‑hunting activities and leverage threat intelligence to improve detection coverage.
• Collaborate with Security Engineering to tune detection logic and enhance security controls.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and escalation processes for 24/7 coverage.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in SOC, incident response or cyber defence.
• Hands‑on experience with SIEM, EDR/XDR and log‑analysis tools.
• Practical knowledge of incident‑response frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and NIST.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and modern enterprise architectures.
• Permanent work rights in Australia.

Required skills

• SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
• EDR/XDR solutions (e.g., CrowdStrike).
• Threat‑hunting and malware analysis techniques.
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and NIST incident‑response frameworks.
• Experience with cloud environments: AWS, Azure, GCP.
