Cyber & Data Engineer – Defence Cyber Security SME

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert to develop and support cyber security management plans, strategies, and accreditation activities for defence capabilities. The role involves close collaboration with Defence, industry, and other stakeholders to ensure secure system design and operation.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and analyse cyber security requirements, policies, standards and architecture guidance for capability solutions.
• Assess designs, architectures and interfaces against Defence cyber security requirements and security controls.
• Develop and maintain Cyber Certification and Accreditation Plans supporting capability approval activities.
• Conduct comparative assessments of cyber security solutions and perform cyber risk and opportunity analysis.
• Support development of security architecture products, accreditation evidence and cyber assurance artefacts.

Required profile

• Minimum NV1 security clearance with ability to obtain NV2 (NV2 preferred).
• At least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within Defence and complex acquisition projects.
• Must be able to work onsite at Brindabella Business Park five days per week.

Required skills

• Cyber security governance and system security engineering.
• Security risk assessments and secure‑by‑design implementation.
• Cyber accreditation, certification and defence security compliance.
• Experience with tactical data links, SATCOM, battle management and command‑and‑control systems.
