Customer Relationship Manager - Bearings & Power Transmission

About the role

Motion is looking for a Customer Relationship Manager for a field-based role in Mackay, responsible for growing and managing a portfolio of major resource and heavy industrial accounts across all mining regions in Queensland. You will work closely with site-based maintenance and engineering teams, giving technical guidance and commercial solutions for installed equipment and new projects. The territory includes open-cut and underground coal operations, mineral processing facilities, CHPPs, bulk materials handling systems, heavy industrial sites and mining contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Build and strengthen long-term partnerships with mining and industrial customers
• Identify opportunities to expand the supply of bearings and power transmission products
• Support shutdowns, reliability initiatives and plant improvement projects
• Pursue upgrade and project opportunities
• Conduct regular on-site visits to maintain strong customer engagement
• Provide technical recommendations aligned to operational requirements
• Manage commercial negotiations and account development strategies
• Maintain a structured territory plan to achieve revenue growth targets

Required profile

• A proven ability to build, manage and grow key customer accounts
• Confidence engaging with Maintenance Managers, Reliability Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Procurement teams
• Strong business-development skills and a proactive, results-focused approach
• Ability to work independently in a regional, field-based role
• Willingness to travel with a current and valid driver's licence
• Candidates moving from site-based mechanical roles into technical sales are encouraged to apply

Desirable experience

• Experience in the bearings and power transmission industry
• Hands-on experience with rotating machinery
• Established networks in mining or heavy industry
• Familiarity with mine-site access requirements and shutdown environments
• Mechanical Engineering qualification or relevant trade background such as Fitter & Turner
