Customer & Operations Centre Operator

About the role

ConnectSydney, a joint venture of ServiceStream, Boral and Johnson Controls in partnership with Transport for NSW, manages the Harbour Zone transport infrastructure. It is looking for a Customer & Operations Centre Operator for a full-time role in Rockdale, NSW. The operator monitors and responds to calls, faults and incidents from the 24/7 Control Room, coordinating responses and keeping issues resolved safely and efficiently.

The roster consists of 12-hour shifts over a six-week cycle: four weeks of night shifts followed by two weeks of day shifts, seven shifts per fortnight including rotating weekend shifts (Saturday, Sunday and Monday).

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Transport for NSW road assets such as traffic signals and electronic signs to identify faults and take corrective action
• Organise and dispatch resources to attend faults and unplanned incidents
• Report and document incidents, complaints, observations and enquiries in the ConnectSydney Job Management System
• Answer the stakeholder line and reply to emails promptly and accurately
• Coordinate with multiple parties to resolve incidents and record all details correctly

Required profile

• Experience in a similar traffic management or control room environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good attention to detail and composure under pressure
• Problem-solving, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills

Required skills

• Civil works or ITS knowledge (optional)
• Proficiency with the MS Office suite
