Key responsibilities

• Secure and supervise offenders within correctional facilities.
• Assist with rehabilitation programs and encourage positive behaviour change.
• Manage the safe movement of prisoners throughout the centre.
• Maintain order, enforce rules and respond to incidents promptly.
• Collaborate with colleagues, external agencies and community partners.

Required profile

• Valid open or provisional driver’s licence.
• Willingness to relocate to regional centres (Rockhampton, Townsville, Mareeba) – relocation assistance available.
• Energy, empathy, resilience and a commitment to public service.
• Eligibility to enrol in and complete a Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Custodial).

• Competitive salary $76,584 – $118,635 per year (incl. superannuation) with a 31.5% shift allowance for centre roles.
