Crafts Volunteer - Social Visitor at Erina Residential Care

About the role

HammondCare Aged Care Home in Erina is looking for a creative volunteer to share a love of arts and crafts with its residents. This is a joyful, hands-on role where volunteers help residents make their own pieces, from painting to paper craft, knitting to collage, using a wide range of materials and resources available on site. It is a social visitor position within the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which links elderly people with volunteers in their local community.

Key responsibilities

• Help residents create their own artworks and crafts, such as painting, paper craft, knitting and collage.
• Use the materials and resources provided on site to spark meaningful moments and brighten someone's day.
• Visit regularly as a social visitor, helping to improve quality of life and reduce isolation.

Required profile

• Aged 18 or older.
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check, arranged and paid for by HammondCare.
• Commitment of one hour per week for a minimum of 6 months; a suitable day and time during the week (Monday to Friday) can be agreed.
