Cost Controller

About the role

WSP is seeking a Cost Controller to join its Mining & Metals team on a high‑profile mining project in Western Australia. You will work within an integrated project team, focusing on budget control, cost reporting and performance analysis to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Administer staffing plan actuals and forecasts.
• Prepare and maintain the timesheet access matrix.
• Manage the personnel client endorsement process.
• Prepare client invoices and supporting reports.
• Administer assigned sub‑consultant packages in the Cost System and review them with the project team.
• Validate Quantity Man‑hour Reporting (QMR) output and input data.
• Develop Cost Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), budgets, cost forecasts, revenue forecasts, cash flows, project dashboards and other cost control documents.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a project controls or cost control role.
• Strong computer skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and the broader MS Office suite.
• Good understanding of budget allocation, WBS, SOW and cost terminology.
• Excellent analytical, planning and organisational abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with project and corporate stakeholders.
• Tertiary degree in Finance, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline.
