Cost Controller

About the role

ACCIONA is delivering the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant in Perth, a critical infrastructure project aimed at supplying climate‑resilient drinking water to a rapidly growing region. The Cost Controller will lead cost control and financial performance across the project, providing clear cost visibility, accurate forecasting and high‑quality financial insight to support operational and commercial decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Own activity‑level cost reporting, variance analysis, detailed forecasts and monthly cost and claim reporting.
• Support and maintain Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Delegated Authority frameworks in close collaboration with commercial and cost management functions.
• Track, control and forecast against approved budgets, proactively identifying cost drivers, trends and emerging risks.
• Assist with month‑end cost reporting, financial close and reconciliation activities.
• Partner with operations, finance, commercial and project controls teams to ensure disciplined cost management and decision‑ready reporting.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost control or financial performance management on large‑scale infrastructure or construction projects.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Hands‑on, results‑oriented attitude and comfort working on‑site in a complex operational environment.
• Excellent communication skills to influence decisions across multidisciplinary teams.
