Cost Control Manager

About the role

Join the K2 Team in Perth as a Cost Control Manager, responsible for establishing and operating the cost control, forecasting and performance reporting framework for the Kwinana Gas Power Generation 2 project.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain project cost control systems, including cost breakdown structures, control budgets and commitment tracking.
• Prepare and maintain project forecasts, cost‑to‑complete and variance analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Monitor cost performance against budget for labour, materials, subcontractors and indirect costs.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Engineering and Construction teams to validate progress and cost drivers.
• Support preparation of payment claims, cost reports and management dashboards for governance.
• Provide cost input for variations, claims and extensions of time in coordination with the Commercial Manager.
• Manage and mentor cost control personnel, ensuring consistent application of procedures and reporting standards.
• Maintain cost control records, supporting documentation and audit trails in line with governance requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance or equivalent professional experience.
• 8–10 years’ experience in project cost control or project controls on major EPC or D&C projects.
• Strong reporting and presentation skills with ability to communicate cost and performance insights.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of ERP software (SAP and/or Oracle).
• Experience with project control software.
