Corporate Tax Manager – 12‑Month Parental Leave Cover

About the role

Covetrus is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant to fill a 12‑month parental leave cover as Corporate Tax Manager in Brisbane. Reporting to the Senior Finance Director, APAC, you will own tax governance for the region and ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain tax governance across Covetrus in line with ATO recommendations for Significant Global Entities.
• Identify and mitigate tax risks, review new legislation and implement best practices.
• Ensure compliance with cross‑border tax issues such as transfer pricing, hybrid mismatch rules, withholding tax, repatriation, thin capitalisation and permanent establishment.
• Prepare corporate tax calculations, workpapers and annual returns for all APAC entities.
• Manage quarterly and annual internal tax packages for US reporting and liaise with the US tax team.
• Oversee FBT return process, monthly tax journals and tax effect accounting.
• Prepare disclosures for financial statements and coordinate with external auditors.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Commerce with CA/CPA accreditation.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a large commercial environment, preferably with US multinational exposure.
• Strong independent work ethic with the ability to prioritize deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to adapt communication for diverse stakeholders.
• Proactive attitude focused on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• Advanced MS Excel proficiency.
