Cook – Early Learning Centre

About the role

G8 Education is looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Mill Park Centre, which serves up to 112 children each day. The role produces high-quality, nutritious meals and snacks and is full-time, 38 hours per week. The centre operates from 6:30am to 6:30pm and offers a supportive, fun work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high-quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 112 children each day
• Plan menus according to nutritional guidelines
• Prepare food safely and keep the kitchen clean and safe in line with Food Safety regulations
• Work with children and be a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills

Required profile

• A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood qualification, with experience in a cook role
• Current Working with Children's Check
• Completed or willing to complete the Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Available for set shift days and times, Monday to Friday

Required skills

• Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering and control
• Dietary and allergy-safe food preparation
• Food safety compliance
