Cook – Early Childhood Centre

About the role

G8 Education is looking for an experienced Cook to join the team at Great Beginnings Hornsby, which produces high-quality, nutritious meals and snacks for up to 90 children each day. The role is part-time, 32 hours per week, on a 10-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Key responsibilities

• Plan menus and prepare meals and snacks that meet nutritional guidelines
• Work with children in a supportive, fun environment
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen in line with food safety regulations

Required profile

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA-approved Early Childhood qualification, with experience in a cook role
• Current Working with Children's Check (Blue Card / DCSI clearance) and First Aid
• Willingness to complete the Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
• Available for set shift days and times, Monday to Friday

• Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering and control
• Dietary and allergy-safe cooking
• Food safety compliance
