Conversion Rate Optimizer (GA4)

About the role

A remote, full-time Conversion Rate Optimizer position helping clients understand why users do not convert. The role sits within a team of senior CROs and focuses on GA4 and behavioural tools; it is not a tracking setup, A/B test build, UX/UI, campaign or data science role. Candidates must be available for overlap with Sydney hours, including from 2:00 PM AEST.

Key responsibilities

• Build custom GA4 reports, funnel and path explorations, and segments (new vs returning, device, channel, landing page) to find where users drop off.
• Analyse A/B test results, including confidence and sample size, and use recordings and heatmaps to explain why tests won or lost.
• Review session recordings, heatmaps and scroll maps, and run heuristic reviews of sites and funnels.
• Spot data quality issues such as missing events, duplicates or sampling, and brief developers to fix them.
• Use AI tools to automate reporting and analysis, always checking outputs for accuracy.
• Explain findings in plain English to the team and clients, present ideas and write clear reports.

Required profile

• 5+ years working in GA4 (or Universal Analytics) to answer conversion questions.
• Proven experience analysing A/B test results and explaining why tests won or lost.
• Comfortable with trends, ratios and commercial metrics such as conversion rate, average order value and revenue per user.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Custom reports, explorations and segments in GA4.
• At least one behavioural tool: Hotjar, Contentsquare, FullStory or Microsoft Clarity.
• Tracking knowledge enough to identify data problems and explain them to a developer.
• Nice to have: Google Tag Manager, Python, SQL or BigQuery, and certifications in Contentsquare, Hotjar or FullStory.
