Contract Administrator / Senior Contract Administrator

About the role

Hutchies is growing its Sydney business and is looking for a commercially minded Contract Administrator to join the project team. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and subcontractors to drive commercial outcomes and keep projects moving, covering procurement, subcontractor engagement, variations, forecasting and contract administration.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, negotiate and administer Head Contracts, Subcontracts, Supply Agreements and Purchase Orders
• Manage procurement, including tendering, trade break-ups, scope reviews and subcontractor engagement
• Manage complex variations, EOTs, claims and contractual correspondence
• Monitor project financial performance, including cost-to-complete, forecasting and margin protection
• Prepare and manage cash flow projections and monthly financial reports
• Lead progress claim preparation, submission and negotiation with the client, and review subcontractor progress claims and invoices
• Ensure contract compliance, document control and adherence to governance processes
• Identify and mitigate commercial and contractual risks across the project lifecycle
• Manage procurement, variation and EOT registers and attend site meetings and site visits as required
• Mentor Junior Contract Administrators and support their development

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in the field
• 4+ years of experience in a similar role
• Strong attention to detail, organisational and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong relationship building with stakeholders
• Ability to work in a team and independently, with a friendly, professional approach
