Consultant Environmental Scientist – Water Services

About the role

Join Onterris' Strategic Water Services team in Sydney to deliver high‑quality environmental investigations. You will work on contaminated land and water projects, conducting field sampling and providing data‑driven reports for clients and regulators.

Key responsibilities

• Perform field work, including soil, gas, groundwater, sediment and surface‑water sampling, often in remote locations.
• Interpret field data, prepare detailed reports, and ensure compliance with client and regulatory expectations.
• Engage with internal teams, external clients and subcontractors to plan and deliver project outcomes.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years of experience in an environmental consultancy.
• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management or a related discipline.
• Working knowledge of relevant Queensland and New South Wales environmental legislation and international closure standards.

Required skills

• Soil, gas, groundwater, sediment and surface‑water sampling techniques.
• Data interpretation and report preparation.
• Familiarity with QLD and NSW environmental legislation and Australian state‑based policies.
