Construction Project Manager - QLD

About the role

Ampol Retail is looking for a Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a national portfolio of complex retail and infrastructure projects. You will manage multiple capital works programs at once, covering planning, safety, commercial outcomes, stakeholder engagement and governance. Projects range from knockdown rebuilds and major site redevelopments to network upgrades and equipment rollouts. The role reports to the National Construction Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, tendering and delivery of complex, multi-site construction projects and programs.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, risks and resources.
• Drive contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual, safety and environmental standards.
• Partner with Property, Operations, Finance, Engineering and Marketing to align delivery with business priorities.
• Oversee governance, change control and capital expenditure management.
• Monitor and report project performance to senior leaders.
• Lead project close-out, including commissioning, handover and lessons learned reviews.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Construction or a related discipline preferred.
• Significant experience leading construction projects in retail, fuel, QSR, infrastructure or multi-site development.
• Experience managing large capital works programs, contractors and project governance frameworks.
• Strong commercial acumen in budgeting, forecasting, procurement and CAPEX management.

Required skills

• Knowledge of project management systems such as Primavera, MS Project, Aconex, Procore or SAP.
