Community Relations and Engagement Specialist

About the role

The Community Relations and Engagement Specialist will build trust with communities near Boral Quarries and celebrate internal staff. Reporting to the South East Queensland General Manager, the role receives coaching from the National Community Relations and Engagement Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Run local community meetings and events
• Build relationships with residents and stakeholders
• Manage community partnership programs
• Coordinate recognition and reward initiatives for employees
• Write newsletters, event summaries and social posts
• Respond to community feedback and support the media team
• Track government policy and local issues affecting sites
• Partner with Brand, Communications and Marketing on messaging

Required profile

• Proven experience in community engagement, internal communications or stakeholder relations
• Background in a large, well‑established business with many teams, sites and layers
• Experience preferably from mining, construction, manufacturing or similar heavy industry
• Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, community development or a related field
• Comfortable working across a complex organisation to get things moving
• Proactive, empathetic communicator who enjoys bringing people together
• Confident organising events and writing content
