Community Programs Coordinator

About the role

Kariong Neighbourhood Centre (KNC) is a community-run not-for-profit organisation delivering programs and services for local families, children and community members. It is seeking a part-time Community Programs Coordinator (about 21 hours per week, Monday to Wednesday) to lead programs and initiatives that strengthen community connection, support families and create positive outcomes across the Central Coast. Working closely with the General Manager, you will deliver community programs, build local relationships, support volunteers and staff, and help strengthen services.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver community programs and activities
• Support volunteers, students and program staff
• Respond to and reflect critically on community and client feedback
• Promote programs and encourage community participation
• Assist with reporting, compliance and organisational activities
• Provide leadership support to the General Manager and act as second-in-command when required

Required profile

• Experience in community services, family support, children's services or a related field
• Experience coordinating programs or community initiatives
• Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, families or communities
• Leadership capability and experience supporting staff, volunteers or community groups
• Commitment to child safety and wellbeing
• Willingness to learn the whole business, including a licensed education and care service
