Community Liaison Psychiatrist

About the role

Flourish Australia is recruiting a Community Liaison Psychiatrist for its Seven Hills team, working across Western Sydney. The position is closed-term part-time until 30 June 2027, at 16 hours per fortnight on a flexible weekday roster. It sits within the Primary Care Psychiatry Liaison Service (PCPLS), which helps general practitioners and practice staff better manage mental health issues in their patients.

Key responsibilities

• Provide recovery-oriented clinical care to patients of GP practices in the PCPLS
• Lead the multidisciplinary team of GPs, practice staff, allied health professionals, Peer Workers and Mental Health Workers
• Give consultancy, education and coaching to GPs and practice staff to improve their ability to identify and manage mental health needs of patients, families and carers
• Use Peer Workers and Mental Health Workers to give psychosocial support and service connections to people with lived experience of a mental health issue

Required profile

• Mandatory specialist qualification in psychiatry and AHPRA registration
• Experience delivering recovery-oriented clinical support in a multidisciplinary team
• Experience advising, educating and coaching medical practitioners and allied health professionals
• Understanding of peer-based approaches and professional capacity building in health settings
• Current Australian driver's licence
