About the role
A client in Cooranbong needs a friendly companion to spend time in her garden once a week or once every two weeks. The garden has long been a peaceful place, but some tasks have become harder, so she is looking for someone who enjoys gardening, being out in nature and sharing stories with an older person in the community.
Key responsibilities
- Light weeding and tidying in the garden
- Enjoying a cup of tea and conversation
- Sharing gardening tips, stories and favourite plants
- Spending time outdoors in the fresh air
- Providing companionship and connection
Required profile
- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
- Flexible availability between 9am and 4pm, 30 minutes to 1 hour per visit, Monday to Sunday
HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that runs the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which connects elderly people with volunteers in their local community.
