Community Engagement Officer

About the role

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking Community Engagement Officers to join a dynamic team delivering conservation outcomes for natural, Aboriginal and built heritage. The role involves facilitating decision‑making, engaging the public and stakeholders, and supporting strategic advice across the state.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, implement and review community and stakeholder engagement strategies, projects and programs.
• Provide strategic advice, risk management and communication plans in collaboration with operations and program teams.
• Facilitate public and stakeholder participation in planning, behaviour‑change initiatives and interpretation activities.
• Use project management tools, CRMs and reporting systems to monitor and evaluate engagement outcomes.

Required profile

• Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent relevant working experience in a related field.
• Australian citizenship or permanent residency (or valid work visa for temporary roles).

Required skills

• Proficiency with project management tools.
• Experience using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems for stakeholder tracking and reporting.
