Commissioning Technician (Regional CCX)

About the role

Silent-Aire, a Johnson Controls company focused on data centre cooling and mission-critical infrastructure, is looking for a Commissioning Technician / Regional CCX Technician to join its Sydney team. You will execute, coordinate and support commissioning and construction activities for Silent-Aire products, helping ensure customer satisfaction, operational performance and compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day CCX services, including inspections, installations, repairs, start-up, functional testing and troubleshooting of Silent-Aire equipment
• Work with client project teams from installation through commissioning and handover
• Collaborate with SAE Engineering and QA/QC teams to understand design requirements and give feedback on improvements
• Build and maintain client relationships, providing prompt technical support and issue resolution
• Monitor and report on project progress, risks, milestones and their impact on quality, cost or schedule
• Collect, analyse and summarise operational data and trends, and complete daily reporting with accurate documentation
• Support regional growth and work with APAC technicians and management to improve regional performance and profitability
• Protect company information and comply with business, safety and quality procedures

Required profile

• University or college degree in engineering or a related technical discipline (preferred)
• Trade school education or certification (an asset)
• At least five years' experience as a technician, ideally in the HVAC industry
• Ability to build internal and external relationships, commit to safety and quality, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must meet site access requirements and pass pre-employment checks (drug/alcohol testing, medical, background, references, driving record); willingness to travel as required

Required skills

• Strong analytical and computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Above-average troubleshooting skills
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting or financial reporting is advantageous
